FORT WORTH, Texas (January 14) - The Central Hockey League announced Monday that Fort Worth Brahmas forward John Snowden was named Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 13.

Last week, Snowden posted nine points (seven goals, two assists) and a +4 plus/minus rating as the Brahmas went 3-1-0 in four games, including two wins against the cross-town rival and first-place Allen Americans.

Snowden's streak of production started earlier than this past week. Since joining the Brahmas December 21, the 10-year veteran has posted 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) and a +11 plus/minus in just 12 games. Over his last five games, Snowden has netted 13 points (nine goals, four assists), including four multi-goal games over than span.

More importantly, since the 6-foot, 205-pound winger's arrival, the Brahmas are 8-4-0 and have moved from seventh place to third in the CHL. Additionally, Fort Worth is 7-2-0 in games when Snowden records a point. The Everett, Washington native played the first 22 games of the season with the Rapid City Rush.

This is the third accolade awarded to a Brahma this season. Phil Fox was named Player of the Week for the period ending November 18, and Kristofer Westblom was named Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 2.

The Brahmas have two road games this week, as the team travels north to take on the Quad City Mallards and the Bloomington Blaze Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19, respectively. The team returns to the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26 to host the Bloomington Blaze and Rapid City Rush on back-to-back nights.
