DENVER - The Denver Cutthroats split their final two games out west against the Arizona Sundogs over the weekend. The Fish return to the Midwest this week to begin a stretch of 15 days on the road where they will play the final seven games of their January road trip.

Last week's record: 1-1-0

Overall record: 19-13-4, T-4th in the Central Hockey League

January 11 at Arizona Sundogs, 4-2 Loss

A 7-2 power play count in favor of Arizona was the difference as the Sundogs scored three of their four goals on the man-advantage. Luke Fulghum and Troy Schwab each scored for Denver in the loss.

January 12 at Arizona Sundogs, 2-1 Win

Kent Patterson stopped a league-high 50 shots for the Cutthroats in the 2-1 win. Luke Fulghum and AJ Gale each scored for Denver as Patterson made the two-goal output hold up for the win with 21 saves in the third period alone.

Friday's matchup is the second of seven meetings this season between the Cutthroats and Bloomington Blaze. The Fish took the first meeting of the year, 5-1, back on November 28 in the Mile High City. The Blaze sit in sixth place in the CHL, three points back of Denver. The Cutthroats will look to avenge their January 4 loss to the Mallards - the only prior meeting this season between the two clubs. Quad City currently holds the ninth-place slot in the CHL standings.
