John Gall Promoted to Majors

New Jersey Cardinals News Release


The St. Louis Cardinals have announced, that former New Jersey Cardinals first baseman, John Gall (NJC-00) has been called up from Triple A Memphis to St. Louis. Gall will replace Larry Walker who was put on the disabled list today.

Gall appeared in 88 games for Memphis hitting .270 with 17 doubles, 10 home runs, and 47 RBIs. Gall was an 11th round pick by St. Louis in the 2000 Free Agent Draft. Gall played for New Jersey in 2000 appearing in 71 games hitting .239 with 10 doubles, 2 home runs and 27 RBIs.

Gall becomes the 26th former New Jersey Cardinal to be promoted to the Major Leagues. Others include former manager Jose Oquendo (NJC-98) and players Matt Morris (NJC-95), Brady Raggio (NJC-94), Curtis King (NJC-94), Keith Glauber (NJC-94), Carl Dale (NJC-94), Miguel Mejia (NJC-97), Adam Kennedy (NJC-97), Chad Hutchinson (NJC-98), Justin Brunette (NJC-97), Gene Stechshulte (NJC-96/97), Chris Richard (NJC-95), Britt Reames (NJC-95), Jason Carnuth (NJC-97), Josh Pearce (NJC-99), Jose Leon (NJC-96), Coveli Crisp (NJC-00), Esix Snead (NJC-98), Les Walrond (NJC-98), Bo Hart (NJC-99), Jim Journell (NJC-00), Carmen Cali (NJC-00), Steve Stemle (NJC-98), and Skip Schumaker (NJC-01).
