
Vermont Expos Six-Game Homestand at Centennial Field July 28th-August 2nd

BURLINGTON, VT --- The Vermont Expos return home to Centennial Field on July 28th to begin a six-game homestand with the Lowell Spinners (Boston Red Sox) and Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians) Thursday through Tuesday.
Highlights of the homestand include an appearance by Johnny Podres on the 28th, Zooperstars on the 29th, the Unknown Blues Band on the 30th, Stars and Stripes Night on the 31st, Medicare Night on the 1st and a Diamond Dig on the 2nd.
Former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Johnny Podres will be at Centennial Field when the Expos open the six-game homestand with a three-game series against the Lowell Spinners. Thursday is also McDonald's Night with a coupon giveaway.
Zooperstars return to Centennial for their second straight year on Friday. The inflatable animal mascots with famous sports names will entertain the fans throughout the night. The mascots scheduled to appear are Derek Cheetah, Mackerel Jordan, Shark McGwire, LeBronco James and Harry Canary. There will also be 1,000 glowsticks given away courtesy of Kinney Drugs.
Saturday's series finale with Lowell is a "Night of Blues" with The Unknown Blues Band featuring Sandra Wright performing on the concourse before the game. There will also be a baseball hat giveaway sponsored by Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
There will be a 1,200 mini bat pom-pom giveaway as Shaw's Supermarkets present "Stars & Stripes Night - A Salute to Local Heroes! The homestand concludes on Tuesday with Perrywinkle's Diamond Dig. Ladies who pre-register at Perrywinkle's and at Expos games now thru Thursday will have a chance post-game Tuesday to dig up a diamond ring buried in Centennial Field.
Game time for all games are 7:05 p.m. except for Sunday's game which begins at 5:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the field each day when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. Sunday) or in advance on-line at www.vermontexpos.com, by phone (802) 655-6611 or in person at the Expos ticket office in the Champlain Mill.
