 Adirondack Thunder News Release
Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that John Edwardh has been named the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week.
Edwardh scored two goals and added two assists for four points in Adirondack's season-opening 6-3 win at Maine on Saturday.
The 23-year-old made his pro debut at the end of last season, appearing in two games with the Thunder and one game with the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League. Edwardh signed an AHL deal this season before being reassigned to Adirondack prior to the start of the ECHL season.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Edwardh played four seasons at UMass-Lowell, recording 87 points (38g-49a) in 136 career games.
On behalf of John Edwardh, a case of pucks will be donated to an Adirondack youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Inglasco has donated more than 39,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
The Thunder are back on the ice tonight as they take on the Newfoundland Growlers for the first time in franchise history. Puck drop is slated for 5:30 p.m. EST from Mile One Centre in St. John's, NL. Adirondack returns home Saturday for its home opener at 7:00 p.m. against the Brampton Beast. Tickets are still available with the Stewart's Four Pack. For the latest Thunder news, follow the team on Facebook and Twitter.
