Zane Schartz scored his first two professional goals, while Ty Reichenbach made 45 saves to lead the Norfolk Admirals to a 5-3 victory over the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday night in front of an announced crowd of 7,130 at Scope. Taylor Cammarata set up the first of two goals on the night to Connor Hurley late in the first period. Hurley finished with a goal and two assists in his professional debut.

The Admirals' first road test takes them to Estero, Florida to take on the defending Eastern Conference and Brabham Cup (regular season) champions the Florida Everblades. The Everblades have many new faces on the roster this season, but several key returnees remain. Big-bodied forward John McCarron enters his third season in Florida after leading the team in goals (29) last season. Second-year forward Joe Cox is also back and will be looking to build upon his impressive 54-point rookie campaign last season. Florida earned a split over the weekend at Newfoundland.
