
Joel Wright Leads Energy to Victory over the Charge

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (6-2) won 106-101 over the Canton Charge (2-6) Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena
The Energy were led by Joel Wright with a game-high 36 points and 13 rebounds. Lazeric Jones added 21 points and six rebounds and Andrew Harrison added 18 points. Alex Stepheson added a double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Canton was able to jump out to an early lead to begin the game. The Charge then opened up an eight-point lead before the Energy were able to come back and tie the game 29-29 at the end of the first quarter. Wright led the Energy with nine points in the first. Wright was able to keep the hot shooting hand in the second adding 11 more points for a total of 20 at halftime. The Charge once again built a lead, but the Energy fought back to lead 54-52 at halftime.
It continued to be a close game in the third with five lead changes for a total of 15 in the first three quarters. Harrison led the Energy scoring in the third with seven points with Wright adding six more. The Charge would lead 79-75 heading into the final quarter. The Energy took the lead in the fourth and would hold on to win 106-101 behind 10 more points from Wright.
The Energy head out on a three game road trip before returning home on Friday, Dec. 18 for Hoops For Troops Military Appreciation Night.
