Jam Edge Blue for Third Straight Win

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam (5-5) defeated the Oklahoma City Blue (1-9) 102-91 Tuesday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. Xavier Munford led the Jam with a game-high 23 points to go along with seven assists.

Munford scored 12 points (4/4 FGs) in the opening period and helped the Jam take a 25-21 lead after one quarter of play. In the second, both teams struggled from the floor, shooting below 32 percent, but Bakersfield managed to maintain their advantage and held a 46-36 lead at the break.

The second half saw the Jam increase their lead to as many as 13 in the third and 17 in the fourth. The Blue got within single digits (99-91) late in the final frame when they went on an 8-0 run, but the Jam held their ground and earned their third straight victory.

Earl Clark posted 22 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Askia Booker came off the bench and tallied 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Deonte Burton added 16 points.

All five starters for Oklahoma City scored in double-figures, led by Marquis Teague's 20 to go along with six assists. Dakari Johnson had 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Oklahoma City Thunder assignee Mitch McGary posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Bakersfield will next travel to Idaho for a match against the Stampede on Friday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m. PT.
