
Joe Cronin promoted to Pensacola

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Joe Cronin has been promoted to double-A Pensacola and INF Hunter Lee will join the Kernels from Elizabethton. Jeremy Zoll, Twins Director of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
The Twins selected Lee in the 27th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of High Point University in North Carolina. He split time last season between the GCL Twins and Elizabethton, hitting a combined .264 (24-91) with 2 HR and 12 RBI in 33 games.
Cronin was batting .263 (5-19) in six games for the Kernels this season with a double, triple and RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 34th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Boston College.
Lee is active and available for today's 2:05 PM game against Burlington. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players on the injured list, and one player on the restricted list.
The Kernels wrap up a seven-game home stand this afternoon at 2:05 PM vs. Burlington with the gates opening at 1:00 PM. They will host Quad Cities in a three-game series starting Monday, April 15th at 6:35 PM that was moved to Cedar Rapids due to river flooding in Davenport.
