Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON)- Peterborough Petes Head Coach Jody Hull is introducing a new initiative designed to recognize student leaders during the 2015-16 hockey season.
Jody's Junior Leadership Program will give an opportunity for local students under the age of sixteen to watch the Petes' warm-up alongside Coach Hull during each home game. Selected students will also receive two tickets to the game, and will be invited to a leadership luncheon with fellow participants and members of the Petes following the season.
Nominees should be students who have displayed leadership qualities in the classroom, at home, or in the community. Student leaders can be nominated by visiting the Jody's Junior Leadership Program website, or by calling Petes Coordinator of Game Operations, Tamara Burns, at (705) 743-3681.
Coach Hull, a native of Petrolia, Ontario, lives in Ennismore with his wife Kelly, son Brady and daughter Mackenzie. With a playing and coaching career spanning over four decades and including championship-level success at every level, the Petes alumnus knows first-hand the importance of leadership both on and off the ice.
"There are many incredible young leaders in Peterborough and the surrounding area that deserve recognition," noted Hull. "Leadership can take many forms, and with this program I hope to motivate young people to continue to make our community a better place to live."
Jody's Junior Leadership Program will begin with the first leader recognized during the Petes home opener on Thursday, September 24 against the Ottawa 67's. Tickets are available here for Thursday's game, or by calling (705) 743-3561.
