Jets Recall Julian Melchiori from IceCaps; Place Clitsome on IR

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have recalled defenceman Julian Melchiori from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Jets also announced they have placed defenceman Grant Clitsome on the injured reserve list retroactive to Dec. 17/13.

Melchiori, 22, has played in 18 games with the IceCaps so far this season. In that time, he has recorded five assists and 14 penalty minutes. The Richmond Hill, ON native has played in 71 career AHL games, all with St. John's, for 13 career points (1G, 12A) and 53 career penalty minutes. This is his second recall with the Jets this season, the first on Nov. 16/13.

He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round, 87th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
