
Jerome Messam Named CFL Top Canadian for Week #6

(Edmonton) Edmonton Eskimo running back Jerome Messam continues to pile up yards and accolades in his first season with the club. Messam has been named Gibson's Finest CFL Canadian Player of the Week for his solid performance in Edmonton's 28-16 loss to Winnipeg last Friday.
Messam posted 8 carries for 50 yards and 4 receptions for 31 yards against the Blue Bombers
Acquired in a trade with BC during training camp, Messam was named Gibson's Finest Top Canadian for Week #2 with a pair of touchdowns in the Esks' July 9th win over Hamilton. He finished out the opening month of the season with 55 carries for 274 yds (4th in the CFL) and two TDs along with four receptions for 30 yards, earning him Top Canadian for July.
The Eskimos (5 - 1) travel to Montreal to face the defending Grey Cup champion Alouettes (4-2) on Thursday. Kickoff 7:30pm EST (630 CHED, TSN/RDS)
