Jeroloman Homer Lifts Fisher Cats to Victory in Trenton, 4-1

Trenton, NJ---Brian Jeroloman broke a 1-1 tie with a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning and the Fisher Cats went on to a 4-1 win over Trenton on Wednesday night at Waterfront Park.

Jeroloman (2-for-3, HR, BB, 2 R) hit his second home run of the season on a 3-2 pitch off losing pitcher Wilkin De La Rosa (0-1) to make it 2-1. Darin Mastroianni followed with a double, Callix Crabbe reached on a bunt single and David Cooper walked to load the bases. Brad Emaus then drilled a two-run double into the left field corner to put the Fisher Cats up 4-1. Vince Bongiovanni (1-0), who worked two scoreless innings in relief earned his first win since joining the Fisher Cats (12-7). Trystan Magnuson worked the final two innings of scoreless relief to earn his first save.

Trenton (9-10) took a 1-0 lead in the last of the third inning against starter Bobby Bell. Daniel Brewer singled and stole second. He moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Austin Romine (2-for-3, RBI). Bell worked the first five innings, allowing five hits and one run. He did not walk a batter and struck out three for New Hampshire.

The Fisher Cats came back to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the sixth inning. Jeroloman started the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He moved to third on a groundout by Crabbe and then scored the tying run on a single by Cooper off starter Lance Pendleton.

The series concludes Thursday morning at 10:35am with LHP Luis Perez (2-1, 1.52) starting for New Hampshire as they look to sweep against Trenton RHP D.J. Mitchell (2-1, 3.07). Game time is 10:35am and coverage with Bob Lipman begins at 10:15am on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
