Trenton Thunder News Release

Trenton, NJ - A solid pitching performance from RHP Lance Pendleton could not be preserved as the Thunder lead was blown once again this home stand, and Trenton fell to New Hampshire 4-1 on Wednesday night at Waterfront Park. With the loss, the Thunder fall under .500 for the first time this year, at 8-9.

Trenton struck first in the third inning, where Austin Romine belted and RBI single into left field, scoring Daniel Brewer from third base. It was Romine's eleventh RBI on the year.

Pendleton was able to pitch through five innings for the first time in 2010, but let up a run in the top of the sixth inning, off an RBI single from David Cooper to tie the score at one. Pendleton was lifted after that hit for RHP Josh Schmidt.

After Schmidt retired the side in order in the seventh inning, LHP Wilkin De La Rosa came in to pitch the eighth and served up a solo home run off the bat of Brian Jeroloman to give the Fisher Cats a 2-1 lead. In total, New Hampshire would tag De La Rosa (0-1) for three runs on three hits in the inning.

RHP Vince Bongiovanni (1-0) earned his first win for New Hampshire after giving up one hit over two innings pitched.

Romine was able to extend his hitting streak to 11 straight games.

The Thunder and Fisher Cats close out their three game series on Thursday morning at 10:35 AM. RHP DJ Mitchell will start for the Thunder, while New Hampshire counters with LHP Luis Perez.
