TODAY: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Britain Rock Cats will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels swept a doubleheader from the Rock Cats Tuesday night, 3-1 in game one and 2-0 in game two, as four Richmond pitchers combined to allow just one run on six hits over 14 innings.

TODAY'S STARTER: Left-hander Craig Clark gets the start in the series finale for the Flying Squirrels...Received a no-decision at Reading on 4/23...Worked a season-long 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on five hits...Struck out a season-high four batters and walked two...Worked out of trouble in the bottom of the third inning after issuing a pair of walks...Got Freddy Galvis to hit into a 6-4-3 inning-ending double play...Threw 23 pitches in the third...Gave up a leadoff home run to Domonic Brown in the bottom of the fourth inning...Other run allowed came on back-to-back doubles from Tagg Bozied and Brandon Pinckney in the bottom of the sixth inning...Threw 85 pitches, 54 strikes...Retired the leadoff batter in four of his six innings on the mound...Recorded eight ground outs, four fly outs in addition to the four strikeouts...Went three balls in the count to just two of the 24 batters he faced...Went 1-for-2 at the plate with a double...Double was his first career hit and it came off of Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton.

CLEAN SWEEP?: The Flying Squirrels are seeking their second series sweep of the season...Richmond's other series sweep came against New Britain 4/19-4/21 at The Diamond...The club is 3-3 in series this season.

DEFENDING THE DOMINANCE: The Flying Squirrels improved to 5-0 against the Rock Cats with last night's doubleheader sweep...Last season, the Connecticut Defenders went 16-4 against New Britain during the regular season and won three of the four postseason meetings between the two clubs.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels have the second-lowest staff ERA in the Eastern League at 2.55 entering Wednesday's games...Harrisburg leads the league with a 2.23 staff ERA...Richmond has allowed the fewest runs in the league with 48...The Flying Squirrels and the Senators are the only two clubs to have not allowed more than six runs in a game this season.

PAID VACATION: Nick Noonan did not play in game two of the doubleheader marking the first time that the second baseman has had a game off this season...Thomas Neal is the only Richmond position player to have appeared in all 19 games to start the season...The 22-year-old has started 17 games in left field and has been the designated hitter on twice including game two of last night's doubleheader.

THROWING DONUTS: Last night's 2-0 shutout in game two of the doubleheader was the third of the season for the Flying Squirrels...Richmond had previously shutout Bowie on 4/10 and Reading on 4/15...The club has been shutout on two occasions.

TIME FLYS: Game two of last night's doubleheader lasted just 1:35...It was the shortest game of the season for the Flying Squirrels topping the 1:57 seven-inning contest on 4/9 at Bowie...Richmond's shortest nine-inning contest was 2:19 on 4/11 at Bowie.

SETTLING THE SCORE: The Flying Squirrels and Rock Cats rank in the bottom of the Eastern League in runs scored...Richmond has scored 50 runs while New Britain has scored just 47...The two teams are the only ones to have not scored more than five runs in a game this season.

NOT SO GRAND FINALES: The Flying Squirrels fell to 1-4 in series finales with Sunday's 2-0 loss to the R-Phils...The club's lone win in the final game of a series came on 4/21 against New Britain.

NOCTURNAL SQUIRRELS: The Flying Squirrels are 0-3 in day games this season after Sunday's 2-0 loss...Richmond also lost 4-1 at Bowie on 4/11 and fell to Reading 5-2 on 4/18...The team is 10-6 in night games.

HORSESHOES AND HAND GRENADES: All 19 games for the Flying Squirrels this season have been decided by three runs or less..A save has been recorded for the victorious team in 16 of the 19...The average margin of victory/defeat is 2.0 runs (38R/19G).

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 23 double plays in their first 19 games...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays...Binghamton is second with 20 double plays turned.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Right-hander David Mixon tossed a complete-game shutout in game two of last night's doubleheader...It was the first complete game thrown by a Flying Squirrels' starter...Overall, four Richmond pitchers combined to allow just one run on six hits in both games of the doubleheader.
