Chico Leads Sens to 5-2 Win over the R-Phils

The Harrisburg Senators completed a three-game sweep of the Reading Phillies with a 5-2 won on Wednesday night. With the win, the Senators have now won five straight games, all on the road, and draw even overall at 10-10, rebounding from a 1-6 and 2-9 start.

Matt Chico started for the Sens against Joe Blanton for the R-Phils, making a rehab start for the Phillies. In the first inning, Castro singled with one out, Espinosa walked, and with two outs, Leonard Davis launched a three-run home run to right field giving the Sens a 3-0 lead.

After the R-Phils scored an unearned run in the second, Bill Rhinehart hit a two-run home run off Blanton in the third giving the Sens a 5-1 lead.

Chico went the first five innings, allowing a hit and an unearned run in earning his first win of the season. Rafael Martin, Victor Garate and Erik Arnesen pitched the final four innings allowing just a hit to Reading. Arnesen pitched a perfect ninth, earning his second career save.

The Sens began the road trip with a 2-1 walk-off loss to New Britain. They followed that loss with five straight wins including the dramatic come from behind win Tuesday night in game two of the doubleheader. After an off day on Thursday, they begin a ten game homestand on Friday night.

The Altoona Curve invade Metro Bank Park for the first time in 2010 on Friday. The game time Friday night is 7:00pm with LH Aaron Thompson on the mound for the Sens against RH Michael Crotta for Altoona. The game can be heard on 1460AM The Ticket and on the Internet through the Sens website beginning at 6:45pm.
