
Jeroloman and Diaz have two hits apiece, but Fisher Cats fall 2-0 in Trenton

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Trenton, NJ- Brian Jeroloman went 2-for-4 to improve his Eastern League leading on-base percentage to .452 and Jonathan Diaz added four singles, but the Fisher Cats were blanked for only the second time this season, losing 2-0 in Trenton on Saturday night.
Trenton (45-28) moved back into first place by a game over the Fisher Cats. David Phelps (6-0) allowed six hits and walked two, striking out seven to earn the win. Ryan Pope and Grant Duff compelted the shutout. Duff earned his 8th save.
The Thunder opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Daniel Brewer led off the game with a walk and he stole second. After there were two outs, Brandon Laird was hit by a pitch and Matt Cusick followed with a single, scoring Brewer to put Trenton up 1-0.
The Thunder added its other run in the bottom of the fourth as B.J. LaMura walked Cusick and Marcos Vechionacci. After getting the next two batters, Justin Snyder singled to left scoring Cusick to make it 2-0.
LaMura (1-2) left after allowing two hits and two runs in four innings. Vince Bongiovanni and Alan Farina combined to throw four innings of shutout relief. The Fisher Cats (45-30) could not cash in on any of its nine chances hitting with runners in scoring position, losing the game despite outhitting Trenton 8-4.
New Hampshire concludes the road trip on Sunday at 1:05pm in Trenton. Right-hander Adrian Martin (4-1, 2.86) will get the start for the Fisher Cats against Thunder right-hander Lance Pendleton (6-3, 3.72). Fisher Cats Pre-Game begins at 12:45pm on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.
The Fisher Cats open a three-game series against the Reading Phillies at Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Monday, June 28, with a 7:05pm game. Also on Monday, NBA star and Concord, NH, native Matt Bonner will be in attendance at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. The San Antonio Spurs forward will sign autographs for fans in the Samuel Adams Bar & Grill from 5:15pm-6:00pm and will throw a ceremonial first pitch before the game. Bonner, 30, averaged 7.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game during the 2009-10 season.
