"I am very happy and excited with the way the Expansion Draft transpired for us," said Keenan. "Every player we selected is a player that we wanted heading into the day. Tuesday night we unveiled our team name and logo and today we have players - what an exciting time for our franchise."
Hominuck joins the Jax as the team's first player after two seasons with the Buffalo Bandits and a college career at Brock University, where he was the 2003 Rookie of the Year. At 5'9" and 170lbs, Hominuck is a speedy offenseman from St. Catharines, Ontario.
Immediately following the draft, Keenan dealt their fifth selection for the Toronto Rock's first pick in the NLL Dispersal Draft to take place later this summer. The trade marked the first in team history.
With the third overall pick, the Jax selected Toronto-native Defenseman Brock Boyle from the Minnesota Swarm. Boyle's 23rd birthday is Thursday. At fifth overall, Keenan pickup second year Defenseman Luke Forget for his skills he displayed as a rookie for the Rock, not just for the marketability of his last name. Another notable pick is Nick Schroeder from Philadelphia, who stands as the Jax only goalie. Vancouver, British Columbia-native Schroeder spent the past four season backing up on of the NLL's best in the net, Dallas Eliuk.
