Bandits acquire three players following Expansion Draft

Buffalo, N.Y. (July 13, 2005) - Buffalo Bandits General Manager, Kurt Silcott announced today the team has acquired forward Lindsay Plunkett, defenseman Troy Bonterre and the tenth-overall selection in the 2005 Entry Draft from the Arizona Sting in exchange for forward Jason Crosbie, Buffalo's Anaheim Dispersal pick (9th overall) and the fifth-overall selection in the 2005 Entry Draft. In a separate trade, the Bandits acquired forward Cory Bomberry from the Edmonton Rush in exchange for a third-round selection (32nd overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft.

Plunkett (6'3'', 210 lbs.) set career-highs last season in assists (22), goals (14), points (36), loose balls (49) and penalty minutes (14) in 12 games for Arizona. During the 2005 Champions Cup, he led the league in assists (10) and ranked fourth in points (14). In 31 career games, the Peterborough, Ontario native recorded 35 goals and 48 assists for 83 points, while registering 22 penalty minutes.

Bonterre (6'3'', 260 lbs.) ranked second last season on Arizona in penalty minutes (25). In 29 career games, the Owen Sound, Ontario native has logged five assists and 100 penalty minutes.

Bomberry (6'0'', 215 lbs.) - who was selected by the Edmonton Rush during the 2005 NLL Expansion Draft from Arizona prior to being traded to Buffalo - ranked third on the Sting last season in goals (24), and fourth in points (47) and assists (23). The nine-year veteran has scored 162 goals and 274 assists for 436 points during his career.

Portland selected Buffalo forwards Mike Hominuck (1st overall) and Thomas Montour (13th overall) during the Expansion Draft.
