
Minnesota's Boyle and Campbell taken in NLL Expansion Draft

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Swarm general manager Marty O'Neill announced today that the National Lacrosse League (NLL) team lost defensemen Brock Boyle and Scott Campbell in the NLL Expansion Draft.
The Edmonton Rush and Portland LumberJax each selected nine players from the league's current teams as their rosters begin to take shape for the 2006 season. The Minnesota Swarm lost a pair of defensemen in the NLL Expansion Draft as Brock Boyle was selected by Portland with the third overall pick and Scott Campbell was selected with the fourteenth overall pick by Edmonton.
Boyle, 23 (6/14/82), collected 12 points (9-3=12) and 44 loose balls in 15 games with Minnesota during the 2005 season. He led team defensemen in goals with nine and ranked tied for sixth in the league in goals by a defensemen.
Campbell, 23 (10/23/81), recorded one assist and picked up 43 loose balls in seven games during his rookie NLL campaign before suffering a season-ending leg injury in a game versus Buffalo on March 11 and finished the season on injured reserve.
