Jason Vega Named Defensive Player of the Week

WINNIPEG, MB - For the tenth time this season, a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers has been named Player of the Week, this time going to jack linebacker Jason Vega who takes home defensive honours.

In his first season in the CFL, Vega has proven to be a ferocious pass rusher, which was evident in the Blue Bombers' 26-25 victory over the Montreal Alouettes where he racked up two sacks and four tackles. He now sits tied for fifth in the league with seven sacks.

Vega joins Alex Suber (week one), Ian Logan (week one), Joe Lobendahn (weeks two and nine), Buck Pierce (weeks four and twelve), Cory Watson (week four), Jonathan Hefney (week five), and Jovon Johnson (week thirteen) as past recipients of Player of the Week awards this season.
