
Janik Moeser Cracks NHL Central Scouting's "Players to Watch" List

MUSKEGON, Michigan (September 23rd) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that Defenseman Janik Moeser has made the "Preliminary Players to Watch List" for the 2013-14 season by NHL Central Scouting in preparation for the 2014 NHL Entry Draft that happens on June 27-28th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Moeser, the Mannheim, Germany native, is one of 45 USHL players to make the watch list and is rated as a "C" skater according to NHL Central Scouting which initially rates him as a possible fourth- to seventh-round draft pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
During the 2012-13 season, Moeser played for the Jungadler Mannheim Under-18 squad out of the German Development League (DNL), the elite junior league in Germany, and totaled 40 points (16 goals and 24 assists) in 40 games played. Moeser also participated for his native Germany in the 2013 IIHF Under-18 World Junior Championship in Sochi, Russia recording a goal and an assist in five games played.
Moeser is in his first season with the Lumberjacks and has a commitment to play for Ohio State University (Big Ten Conference) following his USHL career.
Additionally, four affiliate players made the preliminary watch list in Forwards James Winkler (Northeastern University commit - "C" skater), Dylan Malmquist (Notre Dame University commit - "B" skater), and Steven Spinner ("B" skater) along with Defenseman Luc Snuggerud (University of Nebraska-Omaha commit - "B" skater). Players with a "B" rating are initially labeled as a possible second- to third-round draft pick.
This season, Winkler will be playing for the Portland Jr. Pirates out of United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL), while Malmquist (Edina), Spinner (Eden Prairie), and Snuggerud (Eden Prairie) will be playing for their respective high schools in Minnesota.
The Lumberjacks will hit the road again this Friday night to Ann Arbor for a 7:00 pm puck drop against the USNTDP Under-17 Team with their Home Opener slated for the following night on Saturday against the Indiana Ice at 7:15 pm.

Season ticket packages for the 2013-14 season are still on sale for the low price of $225 for adults and $150 for children ages 3-12 for the 30 home games provided next season along with individual tickets.
