Janesville Jets Sport Movember Mustaches for Charity
November 16, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Janesville Jets News Release
Fans coming to the Janesville Jets home games this weekend can check out great hockey action as well the players' attempts to grow facial hair. Some are doing better than others!! But it is all for a great cause. (See attached photos of Jets players Ryan Gotelaere and Chase Rey sporting their mustaches.)
The Jets have proudly joined the North American Hockey League's (NAHL) 'Movember' campaign during the month of November. Movember is responsible for the sprouting of mustaches on thousands of men's faces, in the United States and around the world. With their Mo's, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues.
By joining the Jets efforts, fans will automatically be a part of their team's NAHL Network page which is a great way to connect with the other teams and individuals and keep up to date with the other Movember Moustache merchants. Fans are also encouraged to tweet pictures of their Mo's (mustaches) to @NAHLHockey. At end of the month, the NAHL player with the best 'Mo' along with the best 'Flow' will be recognized in the league's monthly Gongshow Hockey Flow of the Month award.
Fans and players alike are encouraged to register at www.movember.com. Please type Janesville Jets in the search space to get to the Jets page. The NAHL Movember Network Page has been set up to keep track of and follow which NAHL team has raised the most money. Donations to your favorite team will accumulate under each teams account. The team with the most funds raised will win a team prize package from Gongshow Gear.
If you would like help getting registered or have any Mo related questions, send an email to info.us@movember.com or contact Movember directly at 310-450-3399, and a friendly Movember team member can assist.
The NAHL Movember campaign is all about bringing back the mustache, having fun and doing it for a serious cause; men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. In 2011, over 854,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas around the world got on board, raising $126.3 million USD. Each year, in increasing numbers, communities across America are embracing the mustache and getting on board with Movember. The levels and types of support vary from one community to the next, but the combined impact of these grassroots efforts play a vital role in helping Movember achieve its awareness and fundraising goals.
