Jr. Blues top Topeka in Shootout

Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
The Springfield Jr. Blues topped the Topeka RoadRunners at the Nelson Center Friday night. The Jr. Blues got off to a quick start scoring 2 goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
Oliver Takacsi-Nagy scored his first goal of the season to open the scoring, Mike Severson and Nick Anderson got assists on the play. Later in the first, Springfield native, Trevor Stone scored his fourth goal of the season.
The RoadRunners would score 2 goals in 3 minutes late in the second to even the score 2-2.
The teams would skate to a scoreless third and overtime, despite each team having a 4-on-3 powerplay in overtime.
Brett Skibba and Terry Leabo would both score in the shootout and Matt Leon would stop 4 of the 5 Topeka shooters to win 2-1 in the shootout.
The Jr. Blues are back in action tomorrow night at 7:05 P.M. against the Topeka RoadRunners again. Bring in canned foods to receive $1 off an adult ticket, up to $3 off.
