Jam Victorious Over D-Fenders

BAKERSFIELD, January 26, 2012 - Osiris Eldridge and Renaldo Major led the Bakersfield Jam (13-10) to a 106-95 win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders (17-9) Thursday night at the Jam Events Center.

Bakersfield started the game shooting 55.0% from the field in the first quarter compared to Los Angeles 37.9%, and Major led the way leading all scorers by the end of the first with 10 points shooting 5-of-8 from the field. Bakersfield ended up trailing by three to end the first (26-23) and continued to trail for most of the second quarter. Down by eight points with 5:09 left in the first half, Eldridge knocked down a couple of buckets and the team rallied behind him ending the second quarter on a 20-8 run and grabbing the lead at halftime (54-50). The strong finish to the first half carried over to the second half, as the Jam never trailed for the rest of the game leading up to a nine point victory over their southbound rivals the D-Fenders.

Eldridge led Bakersfield in scoring tonight for the third straight game, recording a team-high 22 points and dishing out 5 assists. Major added 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Los Angeles Clippers assignee Eric Bledsoe contributed 15 points and a team-high 7 assists off the bench. Juan Pattillo finished the game with 14 points and game-high tie of 9 rebounds and Jeremy Wise had 11 points to go along with 6 assists.

Elijah Millsap had a game-high 28 points this evening. Los Angeles Lakers assignee Derrick Caracter finished the night with 20 points off the bench. Gerald Green added 18 points and 9 rebounds. Mardy Collins tallied 14 points along with 9 assists.

Next up, the Bakersfield Jam will face the Canton Charge, who are in their inaugural season in the NBA D-League, for the first time this year tomorrow at 7 p.m. PT at the Jam Events Center.
