Jam Start Strong But Fall to D-Fenders

BAKERSFIELD - The visiting Bakersfield Jam (8-9) fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (7-7) on Saturday night by a final score of 107-94.

Bakersfield started the game strong on both ends of the floor as they took a 32-17 lead after one quarter of play. In that first quarter, the Jam shot 54 percent from the field and held the D-Fenders to just 29 percent shooting. However, things quickly turned around in the second period as Los Angeles dominated the quarter by forcing eight Bakersfield turnovers and outscoring the Jam 34-22.

All tied at 79 entering the final frame, Bakersfield struggled to get anything going offensively and fell behind by as many as 14 points. The Jam shot 30 percent, committed 11 turnovers and got outscored 28-15 in the fourth quarter. In total, Bakersfield had a season-high 31 turnovers for the game.

Toronto Raptors assignee Dwight Buycks led the Jam with 19 points. Jared Cunningham added 16 points and six rebounds, while Ike Diogu posted 15 points and 11 rebounds. James Nunnally contributed 13 points and seven rebounds.
