BAKERSFIELD, November 19, 2010 - The Bakersfield Jam opened the 2010-11 regular season with a win at home against the Tulsa 66ers. Tied with one minute left in the game, Bakersfield got a defensive stop and sealed the game with free-throws.

The Jam rallied behind their back-court duo of Trey Johnson and Jeremy Wise and a strong contribution from the bench with 3 players scoring in double-digits. Johnson finished the game with a team-high 24 points on 9-16 shooting and Wise with 17 points and 5 assists. Coming off the bench, veteran Patrick Mutombo contributed 14 points on 3-5 3-point attempts, guard Kenny Taylor finished with 11 points on 4-5 shooting and center Luke Zeller had 10 points.

Tulsa 66ers finished the game with only 6 players scoring but all in double-digits. Marcus Lewis finished the game with a team-high 23 points and forward Larry Owens with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Robert Vaden, Zabian Dowdell, and Tweety Carter who came off the bench, all contributed 16 points each and Elijah Millsap finished with 14.

The teams square off again tomorrow night at 7 pm at the Jam Events Center.
