Jam Head to Playoffs as #2 Seed
March 13, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jacksonville Slam News Release
Jacksonville, Fla - The Jacksonville Jam will kick-off the 2007 ABA Playoff season as a Division Champion with a 28-8 regular season record. ABA Power Rankings indicate the JAM as the #2 team in the country. Given a bye in the first round, the JAM will host the Buffalo Silverbacks in a second round Playoff game on Friday, March 16th at the UNF Arena. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
The expansion franchise has had a successful inaugural season both on and off the court as Jacksonville's first Professional Basketball team to qualify for post season play. As the #2 ranked team in the ABA Playoffs, the JAM will have a chance to host games through at least the Semi-Finals in the Single Elimination Bracket Tournament.
"We are thrilled that the JAM has had such a successful first year," said Felix Krupczynski, owner of the Jacksonville Jam. "As a franchise, we have exceeded all of our expectations and then some and to now have made it into the playoffs, we could not be more excited. We had a great regular season and our goal now is to bring home the first professional sports national championship for the City of Jacksonville."
The inaugural season of the Jacksonville JAM has been a great success, entertaining fans throughout the First Coast with great basketball and interactive entertainment such as the $50,000 SUNDAY JAM, Fan Shoot Around JAM, Idol JAM Session, Nemours Junior JAM Zone and SunTrust $100 Hot Shot throughout the season.
"It's a great feeling to be able to "spread the JAM" each game and to have our fans thoroughly enjoy the Game Day JAM experience," stated Krupczynski. "We encourage all to come out and be a part of the JAM as we look to bring home the championship for our fans here in Jacksonville"
