(Bakersfield, Calif., February 27, 2009) - The Los Angeles D-Fenders defeated the Bakersfield Jam 96-83 despite a double-double effort by Mateen Cleaves.
Combining for 10 ties and lead changes in the first half, Los Angeles led 42-41 heading into the break before Dwayne Mitchell took over with a 21-point second half to lead the charge for the D-Fenders.
Mitchell led all scorers with 25 points on the night while Derrick Byars paced the Jam with 19 on the evening.
The Jam fall to 20-15 on the season while the D-Fenders improve to 11-23 on the year.
Bakersfield vists Albuquerque Sunday before returning home Sunday, March 8th for a contest with the Fort Wayne Mad Antz.
