FRIDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Friday's games
Jawad Williams scored a team high 25 points for the Vipers. Jared Jordan tallied his second straight double-double and fourth of the season as he scored 18 points and dished out 14 assists a day after shattering the Vipers team record with 21 assists in Thursday's win over Ft. Wayne. The Vipers bench outscored Erie's 36-6 with Craig Winder leading the way with 15 off the pine. Trent Strickland added 14, Kurt Looby chipped in with 11 and 3 bloked shots, and Marcus Hubbard scored 12.
Maureece Rice scored a season and game high 29 points for the Bayhawks. Erik Daniels and Jackie Manuel each added double-doubles scoring 18 and 12 and hauling in 12 and 11 rebounds respectively.
Ron Howard led the Mad Ants, tying his season-high with 31 points and grabbing a season-high 15 rebounds. Carl Elliott scored 20 and grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds, while Chris Hunter tallied 23 points. Walker Russell added 19 points and Sean Sonderleiter finished with nine points and nine rebounds off the bench for Fort Wayne.
Tulsa finished with four players scoring 20 or more points. Keith Clark and Moses Ehambe each finished with team-highs of 21 points, while Clark grabbed nine rebounds. Derrick Dial scored all 20 of his points in the first half, and added nine rebounds, while Jeremy Kelly put up 20 points. Gary Forbes added 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists for the 66ers.
Dontell Jefferson and Gavin Grant combined for 44 points, scoring 22 apiece, while Ronald Dupree added 19 points for the Utah Flash
Mohammed Abukar led the Stampede with 18 points, while Nate Burleson added 17 points. Luke Jackson added 16 points, and Jamaal Tatum chipped in 14.
James White scored 24 second half points and finished with a game-high 36. Cedric Bozeman notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bighorns had six players in double figures. Leading the way was Russell Robinson with 16. Patrick Ewing Jr. followed with 14 points and nine rebounds. Marcus Campbell finished with 16 and nine.
Dwayne Mitchell took over with a 21-point second half to lead the charge for the D-Fenders. Mitchell led all scorers with 25 points on the night while Gabriel Hughes notched a double-double, scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Derrick Byars paced the Jam with 19 on the evening and Mateen Cleaves recorded an 11 point, 11 rebound double-double.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:
29 players with D-League experience competed in 11 NBA games last night, 6 as starters.
Louis Amundson erupted for 20 points of the bench for Phoenix, adding 10 rebounds and four blocks. Matt Barnes added 18 as a starter.
Denver's Chris Andersen recorded and 11 point, 12 rebound double-double as the Nuggets defeated the Lakers 90-79. Andersen also added a game-high seven blocks.
Starting for Orlando, Rafer Alston scored 14 points and dished six assists.
Kelenna Azubuike and CJ Watson both started for Golden State. Azubuike finished with 14 points. Watson added 10.
Pops Mensah-Bonsu, recently called-up from the Austin Toros and Malik Hairston, also called up from the Toros earlier this year, both scored 11 points for the Spurs in last night's action. Mensah-Bonsu added six rebounds.
