BAKERSFIELD, December 29, 2013 "" The Bakersfield Jam (7-8) defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (9-6) 100-97 Sunday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. The Jam end 2013 on a four-game winning streak.

In a closely contested match that featured 13 lead changes and eight ties, the Jam and the Warriors went back-and-forth throughout most of the game. After coming out flat to start the final frame, Bakersfield used an 11-2 run to tie the game at 91 with 3:51 left. Trailing 95-92, Bakersfield again tied the ball game (95-95) thanks to Ike Diogu who converted on a three-pointer with 1:49 remaining. In the following possession, Butch blocked Cameron Jones' shot, grabbed the rebound and then drained a three-pointer on the other end to give Bakersfield a 98-95 lead. With 46.4 seconds left in the game, James Nunnally scored a layup (100-95) that ultimately sealed the victory.

The Jam were led by James Nunnally (24 points), Brian Butch (23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks) and Ike Diogu (20 points, 12 rebounds). In addition, Aaron Johnson in his first start of the season posted 11 points and 12 assists. Damion James contributed 10 points.

Cameron Jones led the Warriors with a game-high 25 points. Golden State Warriors assignee Nemanja Nedovic scored 16 points, while Dewayne Dedmon posted 16 points and 17 rebounds.
