Warriors Dropped by Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Bakersfield Jam 115-93 Saturday night.

The Warriors were paced by Cameron Jones, who scored 20 points and dished out six assists. William Buford scored 17 off the bench, while Golden State Warriors assignment player Nemanja Nedovic scored 10 points and had five assists.

Bakersfield was led by Atlanta Hawks assignee Jared Cunningham, who logged a double-double with a game-high 25 points and a game-high 10 assists. Ike Diogu scored 17 points and pulled down a game-high 14 boards, while Damion James scored 22 and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Santa Cruz scored four straight to begin the game, but Bakersfield took the 6-4 lead off a James Nunnally three-pointer with 10:03 left in the first and never looked back. The Jam extended their lead throughout the contest, holding a double-digit lead over Santa Cruz throughout the entire second half. Bakersfield led by as much as 27 with 1:08 left in the fourth and ultimately defeated the Warriors by 22 - Santa Cruz's largest margin of defeat this season.

Santa Cruz shot a season-low 38.4% from the floor, while Bakersfield shot 47.3%. Bakersfield held the edge on rebounds (62-43), assists (30-25), points in the paint (56-46) and second chance points (23-12). Santa Cruz had more fast break points (18-10) and committed fewer turnovers (20-26).
