Jam Announce Returning Players, Training Camp Invitees

BAKERSFIELD, November 2, 2011 - The Bakersfield Jam announced today seven players who will attend the team's Training Camp beginning next week. Among them are three returning players: Brian Butch, Anthony Harris and Adam Koch, and four open tryout standouts: Ronnie Aguilar, Damian Johnson, Juan Pattillo and Adrian Thomas.

Brian Butch, 6-11/240 Center, returns to Bakersfield after sitting out last season due to a leg injury he suffered at the 2010 NBA Summer League. His basketball comeback began when he was named to the USA Basketball Men's Pan American Games Team, helping the team defeat the Dominican Republic for a Bronze Medal this past Sunday. The 2010 NBA D-League All-Star Most Valuable Player and 2010 NBA D-League Impact Player of the Year, Butch received a GATORADE Call-Up to the Denver Nuggets in April, 2010. Butch appeared in 39 games, 38 starts, for Bakersfield during the 2009-10 season, averaging 17.7 points, 11.9 rebounds (second in the NBA D-League) and 1.7 assists. He played collegiately for Wisconsin.

Anthony Harris, 6-2/190 Point Guard, split the 2010-11 NBA D-League season between the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Utah Flash, averaging 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on the year. The Bakersfield Jam acquired his rights from the available player pool after the GATORADE Call-up of Trey Johnson to the Los Angeles Lakers. Prior to joining the Jam, Harris played overseas in Cyprus and Hungary. He played college basketball for Miami.

Adam Koch, 6-8/225 Forward, returns for his second season in Bakersfield after averaging 6.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 22 games last year. Prior to joining the Jam, he played overseas in the Czech Republic and participated in the 2010 NBA Summer League with the Indiana Pacers. Koch, the 2009-10 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, played collegiately for Northern Iowa.

Ronnie Aguilar, 7-0/230 Center, played college basketball for Colorado State, averaging 3.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 27 games his senior year.

Damian Johnson, 6-7/ Guard/Forward, last played overseas in Japan, averaging 15.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 47 games. He played collegiately at Minnesota.

Juan Pattillo, 6-6/220 Forward, played college basketball for Western Kentucky after transferring from Oklahoma. He averaged 13.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in 32 games in his single season.

Adrian Thomas, 6-7/226 Guard/Forward, played collegiately for Miami, averaging 9.1 points, and 3.7 rebounds his senior year.

The Jam will complete their training camp roster during Thursday's NBA Development League Draft. Bakersfield has 10 total selections, including sixth, eighth, and 13th overall picks.
