Jaison Jives, But the Cyclones Fall to 'Cats Late 6-3

TROY, NY - Jaison Vilera turned in another quality start but the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, were defeated by the Tri-City ValleyCats 6-3 Monday night in the series opener at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.

BIG MOMENTS

Jaison Vilera struck out three over seven innings in a no-decision, yielding three runs in the fourth inning when Tri-City took a 3-1 lead.

Against Yeudy Colon in the bottom of the eighth, the ValleyCats broke the tie with a trio of runs, scoring on a Brooklyn error and RBI hits from Logan Mattix and Oscar Campos.

The Cyclones tied the game in the top of the fifth, plating a pair of runs on Dylan Tice's run-scoring single and Carlos Cortes' sacrifice fly.

With Monday's loss and a Hudson Valley victory, the Cyclones fell to second place in the McNamara Division with 14 games to play.

Yeudy Colon has suffered the loss in four of his past five appearances.

Jaison Vilera secured his sixth quality start in 11 appearances on the mound.
