FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (5-8) leaned on the blazing hot outside shooting of Justin Jackson to defeat the Austin Spurs (5-7) 115-111 Sunday afternoon in Frisco.

Dexter Dennis opened the game with a 12-point first quarter, but the Legends were struggling to find their shot. Austin clipped 54% to Texas' 29% and went into the second with a 32-26 lead. The Spurs carried the lead through the second quarter and took their largest lead of the night (+14) near the break.

Facing a double-digit deficit coming out of the locker room, Justin Jackson went to work knocking down back to back to back threes. Theo Pinson grabbed five unanswered points late in the third to put the Legends back on top, but the Spurs responded and held a two-point edge going into the final quarter. Jackson took control again in the fourth, finishing the second half 6-of-6 from outside, with his biggest shot coming with 8 seconds on the clock to put Texas on top for the go-ahead lead.

Jackson finished with a season-high 35 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks to lead the Legends followed by Dennis with 24 points, 3 rebounds. Pinson filled his stat line with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and a block off the bench, and Mike Miles Jr. and Jelly Walker combined for 21 rounding out the Legends' double figures.

San Antonio assignment Charles Bassey led the Spurs with 30 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. Dominick Barlow grabbed a second double-double for Austin with 18 points, 12 rebounds. Javante McCoy came off the bench for 14 points joined by Kaleb Johnson with 10.

The Legends head to Rio Grande Valley for a final Showcase Cup game Tuesday against the Vipers before they head to the G League Showcase in Orlando. The Legends and Vipers tip off at 11am on the UEN app. For more information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
