Fayetteville Marksmen News Release
[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - Dean Jackson of the Fayetteville FireAntz, today, was named the Sherwood Player of the Month, for November, in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). The Don Mills, Ontario native helped lead the FireAntz, from October 21st to November 26th, to a 10-2-2 record, the best start in team history.
Jackson, the first recipient of the award in the SPHL, tallied 19 points on 12 goals and seven assists in 14 games. His four game-winning goals, over that period, was the highest in the league.
"Things are going really well right now." Jackson said, "I've gained a lot of confidence, with and without the puck, over the last few seasons. I feel like my decision making is much better now than ever before."
Jackson credits his teammates for much of the success thus far in the season.
"You are only as good as your linemates. They are doing a great job of finding me as well as putting the puck away when I get it to them. We've got a great thing going as a team and it is very exciting."
Fans can catch Dean Jackson, the Sherwood Player of the Month, and the Fayetteville FireAntz at the Crown Coliseum, in Fayetteville, on Friday, December 9th, at 7:35 pm, as they host the Huntsville Havoc. Great seats still remain. Call the FireAntz office at (910) 321-0123 for more information.
