Little Falls, N.J. - The New Jersey Jackals saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end as they fell to the Quebec Capitales 10-4 Wednesday night at Yogi Berra Stadium.
The Capitales jumped out to a three-run lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back. New Jersey countered with one run on a Myron Leslie RBI single in the bottom of the inning, but Quebec plated two more runs in the top of the second to increase their lead to 5-1.
The score stood until the top of the eighth when Capitales' centerfielder Goefrey Tomlinson scored on a sacrifice fly by Seth Henry. In the bottom of the frame, the Jackals tacked on two runs on a sacrifice fly by Nick Giarraputo and RBI single by Jeremy Slayden to cut the lead to 6-3.
Quebec then exploded in the top of the ninth with four runs (one earned) as New Jersey pitching issued four free passes. For the game, the Jackals walked 11 batters.
New Jersey closed the scoring in the bottom of the ninth after Chris White led off with his first triple of the year before scoring on a groundout by Argenis Reyes.
