Pittsfield 9, Newark 5
Heading into the final inning tied with Newark, Pittsfield plated four runs in the top of the ninth to win 9-5. Colonials CF Jerod Edmondson had three hits in five at-bats in the game with a triple and three RBIs, including an RBI single in Pittsfield's four-run ninth inning. The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on DH Eric McGee's solo home run. Pittsfield took the lead with a five-run fifth inning, including a two-run homer hit by SS Matt Nandin. Newark scored two in the fifth and two in the sixth to tie the game 5-5. Pittsfield C Scott Knazek went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI, and 3B Johnny Welch and DH Quentin Davis each had one RBI. Along with Edmondson, Knazek and Davis each batted in a run in the pivotal four-run ninth inning. Colonials reliever Mike Zenko was credited with the win, tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings while surrendering two hits. Newark SS Brandon Young had two hits in four at-bats and an RBI in a losing effort.
Brockton 5, New York 0
Brockton Rox starting pitcher Freddy Flores tossed seven scoreless innings, and the Rox added four insurance runs in the eighth inning to defeat New York 5-0. Flores struck out five hitters and scattered five hits. With the win, Flores improved his record to 3-1 this season. The Rox took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth when CF Chris Valencia singled in SS Dominic Ramos. Still clinging to a 1-0 lead, Brockton added four in the eighth inning as Ramos, 1B Trey Hernandez, LF Shawn Williams all batted in a run. Despite being the losing pitcher, New York starting pitcher Jake Loye pitched 6 1/3 innings without conceding an earned run while striking out five hitters.
Quebec 10, New Jersey 4
Quebec scored three runs in the first inning and two in the second en route to a 10-4 win against New Jersey. Capitales 1B Rene Leveret batted in a run in the first inning with a sacrifice fly, and LF Robert Wagner batted in two more with a two-RBI single later in the inning. In the second frame, RF Sebastien Boucher doubled in a run, and Leveret drove in Boucher with a single to make it 5-0 Quebec. Capitales 2B Seth Henry was 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs, and SS Jeff Helps had three hits in five at-bats and an RBI. Quebec starting pitcher Bryan Rembisz pitched six innings and was credited with the win; Rembisz allowed one run on seven hits and struck out three batters. Jackals C Myron Leslie went 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored in a losing effort.
Rockland 8, Worcester 6
Rockland scored two runs in the top of the ninth to defeat Worcester 8-6. Boulders 1B Cristobal Santana hit a two-RBI triple in the ninth in what proved to be the game-deciding hit. Santana had four hits in five at-bats in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Rockland CF Sean M. Smith went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored, and 2B Jermel Lomack had two hits in four at-bats with an RBI and a run scored. For the Worcester Tornadoes, RF Alex A. Nunez and 1B Chris Colabello each had two RBIs in a losing effort.
