Additionally, the Binghamton Senators have loaned forward Jack Downing to the Jackals.
Blood returns to Elmira where he played to a +2 rating over Opening Weekend against Reading and Greenville. The 6-3, 225 pound defender was reassigned to Binghamton on Sunday, October 15 but did not dress in a game for the Senators before returning to Elmira. Blood was a fourth round draft pick (#120 overall) by Ottawa in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Caporusso, 23, makes his return to Elmira after netting 32 points (16G, 16A) in 29 games with the Jackals as a rookie last season. He also logged 13 games in Binghamton. The 5-10, 200-pound forward had a four-year career at the University of Michigan that saw him rack up 144 points (68G, 76A) in 160 games. He helped the Wolverines reach the NCAA Frozen Four final in 2010 and was a Hobey Baker Award finalist in 2009 after finishing fifth in the country in goals (24) and eighth in points (49). Caporusso was a third round draft pick (#90 overall) by Ottawa in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Downing, 23, is also back in Elmira after spending a portion of his rookie season here last year. The 6-3, 210-pound forward notched 19 points (11G, 8A) in 25 games and posted an assist in four Kelly Cup playoff games. With Binghamton he earned 17 points (9G, 8A) in 47 games. Downing signed as a free agent with Binghamton following a four-year career at the University of Vermont that saw him garner 63 points (35G, 28A) in 144 games.
