
Road Warriors Announce Roster Moves

Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC : Today the Road Warriors announced several roster changes. The team acquired defensemen Rob Kwiet from Stockton in exchange for Kevin Noble. Scott Pitt was returned from loan from the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League. The Road Warriors also signed foward Shayne Wiebe.
"Kwiet is a veteran player and will help the blueline with his offensive skills and leadership." Coach Dean Stork said. "Wiebe plays a great defensive game and Pitt will help with team speed being one of the fastest players in the league."
Kwiet brings experience to the Road Warriors defensive corps having played in 176 games between the ECHL and the AHL. During his time in the ECHL he has collected 13 goals and 51 assists. Last season he was dealt to Stockton from Reading. Kwiet was second on Reading's defense in points with 5 goals, 16 assists totaling 21 points.
Pitt and Wiebe were assigned from Connecticut after playing in one game with the AHL affiliate. Pitt brings a Kelly Cup Championship ring to the Greenville after spending last season with the Florida Everblades. He finished second on the team in goals with 22 and points with 58. Wiebe played 11 games last season with the University of New Brunswick. He also played with the St. John's Ice Caps of the AHL compiling 4 assists in 12 games.
Brock Shelgren and Nicolas Tremblay were also released.
