Elmira Jackals News Release

Trenton, N.J. - The Elmira Jackals (37-21-2-2) stormed past the Trenton Titans (19-34-3-5) at the Sun National Bank Center on Friday night, receiving goals from five different skaters en route to a 7-3 victory.

Elmira jumped on Trenton early, establishing a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals moments apart from each other.

Jordan Pietrus put home a loose puck at the top of the crease off a Mario Larocque shot with Elmira on its first power play, giving the Jackals the lead at 8:15 of the first.

Jean Bourbeau followed up a rebound off his own initial bid, driving in a puck from the right circle to extend the advantage to two goals at 8:53.

Late in the first, the Titans came in on a three-on-one rush, with Steve Silva tapping in a centering pass from Dustin Cameron at 19:28 to reduce the Jackals' lead to 2-1.

The Jackals used their most productive second period of the season, scoring four times in the middle frame for the first time in 2011-2012, to pull away from the Titans.

Craig Rivet opened the flurry by tipping in a Matt Campanale shot at 9:14 to make it 3-1.

Louie Caporusso, playing in his first game since Jan. 26 after missing the last six weeks of action with an injury, added two goals for the Jackals, pushing in a loose puck at the top of the crease at 10:20 and then driving home a shot from the right circle at 12:44 on the power play to extend the lead to 5-1 and chase Trenton's Dave Caruso from the contest.

Adam Presizniuk backhanded in a puck past Timo Pielmeier on the doorstep at 17:58, knocking the Jackals' advantage down to 5-2.

Mike Radja wasted no time in increasing Elmira's edge over Trenton back to four goals. The fourth-year pro snapped in a puck past Brad Phillips' stick from the slot just 20 seconds after Presizniuk's tally, putting Elmira up 6-2.

Radja connected again early in the third, tipping in a centering pass from Artem Demkov for his second of the night to pad Elmira's lead, 7-2.

Randy Rowe backhanded a puck on a breakaway past Pielmeier at 15:58 of the final frame, closing out the scoring, 7-3.

Pielmeier (14-10-1-2) stopped 25 shots for his fourth win against the Titans this season. Caruso (11-22-3-2) made 16 saves on 21 shots before being pulled after 32:44 of game time. Phillips in relief made five saves, not factoring in the decision.

The Jackals return home on Saturday night to host the Toledo Walleye at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena. To reserve your seats call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto JackalsHockey.com.
