Odessa Jackalopes News Release
ODESSA, TX - Coming off a weekend sweep of the Rapid City Rush, the Odessa Jackalopes now begin a four-game homestand this week starting with the Colorado Eagles on Tuesday. It will be the first meeting between Colorado and Odessa since their preseason brawl.
Last week's record: 2-1-0
Overall record: 7-10-1
Tuesday vs. Texas, 8-6 Loss
Texas capitalized on three of their four consecutive power plays in the third period to overcome a 6-4 deficit. Todd Robinson scored a pair of goals in the loss for Odessa. Chad Woollard netted a hat trick in that third period for Texas.
Friday at Rapid City, 8-0 Win
Sebastien Thinel, Kenny Corupe, and Kenny Bernard all scored two goals in Odessa's first shutout win of the season. Michel Robinson made 30 saves for the Jackalopes. It was the largest margin of victory this season for the Jacks.
Saturday at Rapid City, 3-2 (SO) Win
Sebastien Thinel scored a pair of goals to give the Jackalopes a 2-1 lead, before Rapid City's Ryan Menei tied the game midway through the third. Alex Dunn scored the shootout winner in round seven for the Jackalopes.

Tuesday vs. Colorado, 7:05 PM CST
Tuesday will be the first meeting this season between the Jacks and Eagles. It's also the first meeting since a preseason brawl between the teams, capped off by Colorado forward Brad MacMillan's injuring of Odessa's Dave Van Drunen and a resulting 22-game suspension. MacMillan has since left the Eagles team, while Van Drunen returned to the ice after missing the first 15 games of the year with multiple facial injuries.
Friday vs. Laredo, 7:05 PM CST
Laredo has won two of the three meetings against Odessa this season so far. Laredo's Neil Trimm leads all skaters in the season series with three goals and five assists for eight points. The Bucks are currently 6-8-3 on the year.
Saturday vs. Bossier-Shreveport, 7:05 PM CST
Bossier-Shreveport has been one of the league's hottest teams from the start of the season and currently holds the CHL's best record at 16-5-0. Odessa won two of three meetings last season against the Mudbugs and the road team won all three games in the season series.
NOTES FOR THE WEEK
Sebastien Thinel (eight games), Kenny Corupe (six games), and Todd Robinson (six games) are all currently on point streaks for Odessa.Michel Robinson has been the goaltender in each of Odessa's shootout decisions this season, going 1-1.the Jacks have scored 34 goals in the last six games after scoring just 31 goals in their first 12 games of the year.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
