
Jackal win streak ends at three

Little Falls, NJ: North Shore snapped their own two-game losing streak, and New Jerseys three-game winning streak, with a 6-2 victory over the Jackals in Lynn, MA.
The Jackals put up a run in their first set of at-bats. A sacrifice fly by Jason Belcher allowed Jason Tuttle to score, to make it an early 1-0 advantage. Little did they know that they would not score again till the ninth.
After four scoreless innings by New Jerseys Joe Orloski, North Shore made their move in the bottom of the fifth. RBI singles by Jon DeVries and Garrett Weir were part of a three-run inning, to give the Spirit their first lead of the ballgame.
They added to the lead in the sixth, when BJ Weed took Joe Orloski deep to begin the inning. Through six complete, the Spirit owned a 4-1 lead.
North Shore put the fork in the Jackals in the seventh with two more runs. DeVries scored on a wild pitch, while Weed added an RBI single.
New Jersey made it a bit more respectable in the ninth, when Bryce Kartler took Spirit reliever Kevin Fitzgerald yard. It was only a solo shot, as the Jackals fell significantly short.
Chris Farley earned the win for the Spirit in 8IP. He allowed only one earned run, while scattering five walking four, and fanning three.
Joe Orloski suffered the loss in 6.2IP. He allowed five runs, four of them earned run, on eight hits. He walked none, and struck out only one.
