Potomac Nationals News Release

WOODBRIDGE, Va.- The Potomac Nationals announced today that pitcher Jack Spradlin has been promoted to Double-A Harrisburg. The promotion marks Spradlin's first stint with a club above Advanced-A in his career.

Spradlin's addition represents the eighth former P-Nat pitcher to be called up to the Senators this season. The 23-year-old appeared in 23 games with Potomac going 4-0 and sporting a 3.57 ERA. The former Southern California Trojan surrendered just 14 earned runs in 35 1/3 innings pitched while converting two saves in as many tries.

Drafted by the Washington Nationals in the eighth round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, Spradlin spent all of 2007 with Potomac, primarily as a reliever going 3-6 with a 3.92 ERA while pitching in 45 games.

The California-native is in his third season of professional baseball after spending part of the 2006 season with Short-Season Vermont where he was selected a NYPL All-Star.

The promotion leaves the Potomac Nationals with 23 players on their active roster, 11 pitchers and 12 position players.
