Round Rock Express News Release

Round Rock Express left handed pitcher Greg Miller is very familiar with Central Texas. The Aurora, Illinois native is one of only two players to play on every Express team in history. Miller, 23, was called up to Round Rock at the end of the 2000 Championship season. He missed half of the 2001 season because of injury and finished with 5-3 with a 3.25 ERA in 14 starts for the Express. He finished the 2002 season 3-6 with a 5.00 ERA, striking out 50 and walking 21 in 68.1 innings for Round Rock.

A member of the Astros 40-man roster, Miller was 3-2 with a 5.29 ERA in nine starts, and the only Express pitcher with a winning record this year. Initially a fifth round selection of the Boston Red Sox in 1997, he was traded to Houston along with Adam Everett for Astros outfielder Carl Everett.

Replacing Miller on the Express pitching staff will be Cheyenne Janke. Janke was 0-1 with a 4.31 ERA in nine appearances for the Tennessee Smokies (St. Louis Cardinals – AA), before being released by the Cardinals on May 19th. Janke was 12-8 with a 3.48 ERA for New Haven last year, and has a 25-28 overall minor league record in four years.
