Metairie, LA. - The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce that Zephyrs pitcher Jonathan Johnson will start for the Astros on Wednesday Night against the St. Louis Cardinals. Jared Fernandez will start on three days rest for the Z's on Tuesday at Edmonton in place of Johnson. Johnson was 4-3 with a 3..34 ERA (24ER/64.2 IP) with 53 strikeouts in ten starts (one complete game) for the Zephyrs this season. In other Zephyrs notes, outfielder Jason Lane who is on the disabled list will begin to take batting practice on Wednesday in Edmonton.
