Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

For the third time in their last four home games, the Isotopes (28-25) were walk-off winners, defeating the Sacramento River Cats (19-33) 6-5 Thursday night at Isotopes Park in 13 innings. The contest was the longest of the season for Albuquerque.

The Isotopes used 19 total players, which led to starting pitcher Matt Flemer coming to the plate to pinch-hit in the bottom of the 13th. With Raimel Tapia 90 feet away from scoring, Flemer delivered an infield single to send Albuquerque to victory.

Trailing most of the ball game, the Isotopes rallied in the eighth and ninth innings. Dustin Garneau connected on a two-run home run in the eighth while Derrik Gibson's RBI double in the ninth tied the game at 5-5.

In his Triple-A debut, Rockies prospect Ryan McMahon connected on an RBI double in his first at bat. He would finish the 1-for-5 with an intentional walk and two strikeouts.

Isotopes starter Harrison Musgrave allowed all five River Cats runs over his 3.2 innings on the hill. The southpaw struck out four and walked two, allowing two home runs. Isotopes pitching has now allowed 20 home runs in their last nine games.

Six Albuquerque relievers combined to shutout Sacramento over the contest's final 9.1 innings. Shane Carle led the way with 2.1 innings of relief out of the bullpen. Austin House and Sam Moll each tossed 2.0 innings scoreless frames.

The Isotopes and River Cats continue their four-game set Friday evening from Isotopes Park. Albuquerque will turn to right-hander Jeff Hoffman (3-2, 3.68). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
