C.J. Cron hit two home runs and drove in seven runs to lead the Salt Lake Bees to an 11-10 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas on Thursday night.

Cron, the former University of Utah star, opened the scoring with a two run homer in the first. It was 3-0 Salt Lake when they scored seven runs in the third, capped off by a grand slam by Cron that landed on the third floor of a building in right center. El Paso chipped away with three runs in the third and fifth innings and two more in the 7th to make it a 10-8 game. Salt Lake would add an insurance run in the 9th on a sacrifice fly by Cron, his 7th RBI of the game.

El Paso would close to within one and had the tying run at first with no outs, but Justin Miller struck out Jabari Blash and induced Christian Villanueva to ground into a game ending double play for his seventh save of the season. Bees starter Troy Scribner (6-1) picked up the win, as he went five innings and allowed six runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Forrestt Allday, who was just brought up from double-A Mobile, led the Bees with four hits and one run batted in, while Kaleb Cowart added three hits.
