
Isotopes Lose, 15-1, for Fifth-Straight Defeat

Round Rock, TX - For the third-straight night, the Express broke the game open in the fourth frame, plating six runs on their way to a commanding 15-1 victory over Albuquerque Thursday night at Dell Diamond.
Topes Scope: - The Isotopes have lost five-straight games for the first time in the second half and dropped at least five in-a-row for the fourth time this year (last: June 20-25, six-straight losses).
-Albuquerque has also lost five-straight games to Round Rock for the fifth time in club history (last: Aug. 24-28, 2022).
-The Isotopes have allowed a homer in 15-straight games, the longest streak since the club surrendered a dinger in 19-straight contests from July 23-Aug. 12, 2019. During the current streak, Albuquerque has allowed 36 long-balls.
-Albuquerque has given up at least five runs in a frame in each of the first three games of the series. Additionally, the club has relented 19 runs in the fourth inning over those three contests.
-Round Rock's starter Robert Dugger threw 7.0 innings of one run ball, the fourth opposing starter to complete 7.0 frames in 2023 (also: Nick Davila, Tacoma, May 17; Darren McCaughen, Tacoma, June 16; and Brandon Pfadt, Reno, June 24). Pfadt is the only other hurler to surrender just one run over 7.0 innings.
-Isotopes pitchers hit four Round Rock batters, establishing a new season-high.
-Albuquerque lost by double-digits for the ninth time this season. The 14-run deficit is the second-biggest margin in defeat this season (largest margin: May 7 vs. Sugar Land, 24-8).
-It's the fifth time an opposing club has scored 15 runs and the 10th time allowing at least 15 tallies in 2023. It's also the second-most runs surrendered to Round Rock this year (most: 18, May 25).
-Albuquerque pitching walked nine batters, the second time allowing exactly nine free passes in a game (also: April 29 at Round Rock). It's also the third time allowing at least nine walks to Round Rock this season (season high to Round Rock: 10, May 25).
-The Isotopes grounded into four double plays on the night, setting a season-high for most grounded into double plays while tying the season high for overall double plays this year (July 23 at Sugar Land).
-The Express held the Isotopes to just six hits, the fourth time in 2023 Round Rock has limited Albuquerque to six or fewer hits.
-Albuquerque has allowed double-digit runs to Round Rock in five-straight for the first time in 18-year history between the clubs.
-In his third rehab game with the Isotopes, Sean Bouchard went 0-for-2 with two walks. Over those rehab games, Bouchard is 2-for-9 with two RBI and four walks. In nine rehab games between ACL, High-A Fresno and Albuquerque, he is 8-for-29 (.275) with two doubles, a homer, seven RBI and four walks.
-Coco Montes registered a hit to extend his modest hitting streak at Triple-A to four games (7x20). He has one double, two homers and six RBI during the stretch.
-Jimmy Herron went 1-for-4 with a double on the night, his first extra-base hit since July 28 vs. Sacramento, also a double. He has reached base in 28 of his last 30 games, including 10-straight. During the 30-game stretch, he is slashing .371/.489/.581 with eight doubles, one triple, four homers, 23 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 22 walks.
-Daniel Montaño tallied one hit, a double, over four at-bats and scored the only Isotopes run. He is 13-for-36 with four doubles, a triple, three homer and nine RBI over his last nine games. Has raised his season average from .190 to .224 during the stretch. Montaño also has a hit in 11 of his last 15 games while tallying an extra-base hit in eight of those contests. Eleven of his 18 extra-base hits on the year have come during the 15-game stretch.
-Jonathan Morales recorded a single and the only Isotopes RBI on the night. He has an RBI and hit in four of his last seven contests.
-Jameson Hannah went 2-for-3 on the night, his second multi-hit game in his last four contests.
On Deck: The Isotopes and Express meet for the game four Friday at 6:05 pm MT. Albuquerque is slated to send Phillips Valdez to the hill while Round Rock is expected to start Zak Kent.
