Isles Comeback Falls Short against Quebec

Charlottetown Islanders News Release
The Charlottetown Islanders dropped their fourth straight game on Wednesday night with a 5-4 loss to the Quebec Remparts.
The Islanders came within inches of tying the game late in the third, but despite a pair of goals 2:13 apart in the final period, they could not complete the comeback.
"We were all over them at the end," said Bradley Kennedy, who picked up two of the Islanders' goals. "We had a few goals in the third but that's what happens."
Kennedy opened the scoring for the Islanders in the first period.
The Remparts won the faceoff in their own zone, but Jacob Drobczyk stole the puck behind the net and threw it to Kennedy in front of the net, who was able to rip it past Julian Galloway.
"Drobczyk made a nice behind-the-back pass and I just put it on net," said Kennedy. "It was a nice pass."
It was the first point as an Islander for Drobczyk, playing in his third game.
"It's definitely an exciting moment," he said. "I felt like at the beginning we started slow and then we started to pick it up at the end. It's good to see the character the boys have, it's a good experience."
Later in the period with Dexter Weber in the box for tripping, Matthew Boucher managed to get behind the Isles defence on a breakaway, and slotted the puck past Mason McDonald to tie the game at 1.
In the second, the Isles took the lead back with an early power play. Alex Goulet kept hold of the puck in the zone and then went blocker-side on Galloway at 4:53.
A couple of minutes later things were all tied up again. Zachery Moody fell down on his way to the net, but got the puck across to Massimo Carozza as he fell, who one-timed it past McDonald.
Carozza struck again a few minutes later to give the Remparts their first lead of the game. Luc Deschenes turned the puck over in his own zone, and Carozza went five hole to make it 3-2.
With Quinn O'Brien in the box for tripping later in the period, Bronson Beaton ripped one past McDonald to put the Remparts up 4-2.
Quebec went up 5-2 in the third period with a bit of a lucky bounce as a pass from Dmytro Timashov hit the skate of a defenceman and was redirected into the net 6:57 into the period.
But the Islanders didn't give up, and Oliver Cooper picked up his 10th of the season at 8:15 by throwing a puck in the crease into the net, and just over 2 minutes later Kennedy recorded his second of the game by tipping the puck through the five hole of Galloway.
The Isles came close to finding that tying goal late in the game, but couldn't quite get the puck in the net.
Overall, Head Coach Jim Hulton said he was pleased with the way his team responded after a shaky first two periods.
"It shows character. They don't quit on each other and I was proud of that.
"Adversity's part of life and adversity's part of hockey. I honestly believe we're gonna be a better team when we come out of this and we're close to coming out of it. In tough times, it's even more important to be together and be together in a complete fashion."
And the players certainly believe it.
"We're all sticking together here," said Kennedy. "We're taking it day-by-day."
The Isles have a quick turnaround, with a chance to rebound tomorrow night against the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
